Be part of the conversation that will tackle the opportunity gap in Texas

ElevatEd: Education & the Economy isn’t just an education conference, it’s a conversation. It will change the way you think about opportunity and prosperity in America. We’re convening leading experts on income inequity and education to tackle the widening gap in Texas and the nation.

Did you know there is no country anywhere that has successfully been able to grow gross domestic product (GDP) without investing in schools? There is a direct correlation between education and the economy, as evidenced by a 2015 study in the journal Education Economics. The study found that “education is a leading determinant of economic growth, employment, and earnings in modern knowledge-based economies.”

The Holdsworth Center’s mission is to partner with public school districts in Texas to cultivate a pipeline of effective leaders so that students in every classroom and campus in Texas thrive under inspired and dynamic leadership. Texas is home to 10 percent of the nation’s children, so we have a tremendous impact on the state of the country’s education, and thus, it’s economic health.
