Dr. Lesley Balido McClellan

Senior Analyst of Research and Evaluation

Dr. Lesley Balido McClellan is an educational leader specializing in research and innovation targeted at closing the achievement gaps in academics, as well as social-emotional development. She promotes a holistic approach to the healthy development of the mind, body and spirit of all children.

In her role at The Holdsworth Center, Lesley will measure the Center’s impact and support continuous improvement across programs through targeted, ongoing data collection and analysis.

In her previous job at Pre-K 4 SA, Lesley was part of a leadership team of five that designed, developed and implemented the groundbreaking program from its inception. She analyzed data to drive continuous improvement and collaborated with the San Antonio Museum of Art to weave art into learning. She also forged a partnership with North Carolina State University and the Natural Learning Initiative to design and develop low-cost, replicable and rich outdoor environments that foster healthy human development, critical thinking and a deep connection to nature.

Prior to Pre-K 4 SA, Lesley worked as a bilingual specialist and coordinator for English as a second language at Alamo Heights ISD, and as a fourth grade dual language teacher at East Central ISD. She is a 2012 H-E-B Excellence in Education award winner and the host and writer of Education 4 SA, a 30-minute monthly talk show on the city’s TV channel that discusses relevant information in the field of early childhood.

Lesley holds a doctoral degree in educational leadership from Texas A&M University in Kingsville and is graduate of the Institute for School Leadership-Large Scale Development at Harvard University Graduate School of Education.
