Kelcie Smith has a variety of non-profit experience in the educational field, working at an art museum and at her alma mater, the University of Texas at Austin, before landing at Holdsworth.

Kelcie knew she wanted to work in education while pursuing her bachelor’s degree in art history. Instead of becoming a curator, she wanted to find a way to engage with the public and talk about art and learn from others about their interpretations.

Kelcie returned to the University of Texas at Austin to earn a master’s degree in art education with a focus on museums.

Previously, she has worked as a legal assistant for an Austin-based attorney, an administrative manager at The Contemporary Austin’s art school and as a course scheduler and senior program associate at the University of Texas at Austin.

One of Kelcie’s goals is to make resources like art more accessible, and approachable. Some of the best conversations she’s had about art were with students who would come visit on field trips.

When she’s not working, Kelcie enjoys rewatching The Office, sewing, and relaxing with her two cats, Vincent and Mira.
