Leadership means being able to inspire people to reach aspirational goals for a worthy cause, said Elaine Mendoza, Advancement Committee Chair for The Holdsworth Center.

Mendoza’s mother is an educator and has worked as a teacher, a counselor, and a principal, so Mendoza spent her life watching how her mother inspired endless children and families throughout her 50 years in education.

“She is only focused on how [what she does] makes a difference to the students,” Mendoza said. “Every student has the opportunity to excel.”
