When H-E-B Chairman Charles Butt founded The Holdsworth Center in 2017, he envisioned a unique model designed to create lasting change within school districts and a campus that would reflect the importance of Texas educators and the work they do. Across the nation, there's nothing like the Campus on Lake Austin, a dedicated space for educators to learn, grow, reflect and collaborate.
Throughout the year, public educators from across Texas stay at our campus as part of our world-class leadership development programs. Twice a year, we bring a group of 150 teachers to campus for a weekend retreat. We also invite the public to join us on campus for Place the Ladder, a conversation series on the practice of leadership with noted leaders, moderated by Holdsworth’s president, Dr. Lindsay Whorton
The Campus is designed for engaging learning, private reflection and human connection. Features include an indoor pavilion that seats 250, classrooms and meeting spaces, a two-story dock, fitness center, social hub and guest lodging with communal lounges on each floor.
When not in use by educators for Holdsworth programming, the Campus is available for rental by outside groups for small conferences and events, with the proceeds benefitting educational leaders, schools and districts across Texas.
