David started his career in education as a math teacher, an experience that drives his passion for clear mathematical communication in service of improving public education for students across Texas.
Before coming to Holdsworth, David worked for 13 years in KIPP San Antonio Public Schools. He taught math for eight years, then spent five years in school leadership positions, managing operations, assessment, and data at his school and in regional projects.
David grounds his work serving public education in the many students, teachers and families he worked with in San Antonio.
David holds a bachelor’s degree in music from Grinnell College and a master’s in data science from Southern Methodist University.
Outside of work, he enjoys playing ultimate frisbee, reading and spending time with his family and pets.
