Alumni Forum Webinar Series – Scaling your PoP Recording

One of the biggest requests we hear from alumni is the desire to keep learning from each other after graduation. Earlier this month, we launched Alumni Forum Webinar Series! This quarterly online learning series will highlight successful practices shared by alumni campuses and districts to continue your learning journey.

We kicked off the learning earlier this month with CLP 1.1 Alum Vicki Crain from Cactus Ranch Elementary in Round Rock ISD. Hear how this campus scaled their problem of practice into a campus wide initiative and raised student achievement.

Cactus Ranch Elementary participated in the first cohort of the Campus Leadership program beginning in 2018. They knew they were on the right track with a focus on communication skills but left the program knowing they still had more work to do. They began to focus on explicitly teaching students how to:

  • Disagree respectfully
  • Be a good friend
  • Have academic discussions
  • Be a good listener

They took a risk and spent time daily focusing on these skills. By the end of the year, they had closed academic gaps and had their most successful academic performance on STAAR.

Hear how this campus did not give up on their vision and broadened their problem of practice into a school-wide initiative focusing on communication.

Join us August 14  at 10 am for our next Alumni Forum Webinar for a discussion with Holdsworth Alumni Superintendents and President, Dr. Lindsay Whorton to discuss her recently published resource Beyond Impossible: Making the shifts necessary to thrive in the superintendent role. Feedback is a gift, and it’s an extra special gift when it comes from our alumni.
