East Central Independent School District’s superintendent, principals and other administrators will embark on a five-year leadership development program provided by the Holdsworth Center, which partners with select school districts across Texas.

East Central ISD will join five other Texas school districts as part of the Holdsworth Center’s third cohort, the institute announced Monday. Southwest ISD and Judson ISD are the only other area school districts to have been accepted since the Holdsworth Center was founded in 2017.

The goal is to help districts develop their current leaders and establish systems that will ensure effective leadership in the long term, said Lindsay Whorton, president of the Holdsworth Center.
