Cathy Malerba is an internal researcher and evaluator whose focus is on providing timely information to inform organizational decision-making. She loves a fast-paced environment where the measurement tools and delivery methods are constantly evolving as organizational needs change.
Cathy has spent the last 16 years working for two large school districts in Texas – Austin ISD and Round Rock ISD.
Most recently, Cathy was executive director of assessment and evaluation in Round Rock ISD, where she worked closely with the board and superintendent to develop and monitor a set of long-term performance metrics.
Cathy joined Holdsworth because she was inspired by the center’s mission and its emphasis on leadership development. She believes the most important asset in any organization is its people, and that it pays to be intentional about growth. In her view, great work and great organizations do not happen by accident.
Cathy holds a doctorate in human development and family sciences from The University of Texas at Austin. She is the founding board chair of a nonprofit organization that connects early career researchers to applied research and evaluation externships, with a special emphasis on building a diverse pipeline of researchers and evaluators.
She loves running, yoga, spending time outside and enjoying all that Austin has to offer. She and her husband, David, are enjoying the friends and flexibility that comes after raising three great kids.
