Michelle Hlavenka brings over a decade of experience in public service to her role at The Holdsworth Center. Most recently, Michelle served as a political organizer on the Beto O’Rourke gubernatorial campaign, training thousands of volunteers to do voter outreach.

Michelle enjoys advocacy work and volunteering at the state capital during the legislative session and served as a founding board member of Ascend Texas, a professional development and networking organization political workers in Texas.

Michelle is passionate about public education and has spent most of her career as a trainer and special education teacher specializing in early childhood.

A graduate of The University of North Texas School of Community Service, Michelle holds teaching certificates in child development and special education.

When she’s not working, Michelle loves reading non-fiction, playing the NYT Spelling Bee, and exploring nature and new restaurants with her husband, Jason, and their two children, Colette and Ethan.
