Sophia Choi is an experienced data researcher with expertise in advanced statistical modeling and big data analytics that help stakeholders make informed decisions.
Prior to joining Holdsworth, Sophia worked as a data analyst and business content developer, assisting IT startups to develop market-driven marketing strategies by analyzing user experience data. Her research journey started when she was studying political communication and teaching communication courses at the University of Texas at Austin. Her doctoral dissertation focused on developing a measure of people’s experience of political emotions and examining the dynamics between emotional experiences and political activities.
Born and raised in South Korea, Sophia previously worked as a news anchor and radio producer after completing her journalism degree in college. Although she cherished the experience, she decided to explore a new career path after realizing the toll it was taking on her life.
Sophia lives in Austin with her husband, Jonathan, and their young daughter, Aria. She enjoys spending time with family and friends camping and exploring neighborhood parks and trails. Faith is an anchor in her life and she devotes time to reading the Bible.
