Program FAQs

Who is eligible to attend Aspiring Superintendent Insights?

Aspiring Superintendent Insights is a great fit for central office leaders who are interested in learning more about the superintendent role or who are actively working toward it. This includes individuals serving in roles such as Deputy Superintendent, Assistant Superintendent, Chief Academic Officer, Executive Director, Director, or similar positions that provide exposure to district-wide leadership and decision-making.

What types of practice experiences will I engage in?

All practice experiences are grounded in the Holdsworth Superintendent Leadership Shifts and Competencies, developed from research, best practice, and perspectives from former and sitting superintendents, and board members. Throughout the experience, you will engage in discussions, reflections, brief role-plays, and communication practice authentic to the superintendent role. Activities are a mix of individual and group formats, with collaboration and networking encouraged.

Who will I receive feedback and coaching from?

You will receive feedback and coaching from superintendent coaches, a select group of both retired and sitting superintendents with a range of 3 to 17 years of superintendent experience. These leaders bring diverse perspectives from across Texas and are recognized for their exceptional leadership, with many presenting at state and national conferences. You will have time to learn more about each of their superintendencies and can ask questions throughout the experience.

Is there a cost for participants?

There is no cost for participants. The experience is fully covered by a Holdsworth scholarship, including lodging, and all meals at the Campus on Lake Austin. Participants are responsible for their own travel.

Attire is business casual.
